12 June 2005 Well, is it really a year on from my last news update!!! Well, now Karya is an Arch Wiz .. we have had a player design-an-area competition, and the game seems busier, with the occasional event.

13 June 04 Well, at least I am regular. The Frogs beat the English in a dodgy injury 2 goal strike, damn. :-( Charts updated, not much else to tell...

6 June '04 Well, not been on MUDii much, but I hear there has been lots of talk in the Tea room over the last few weeks, of an Adult nature! And mainly the girls too!!! <blush>. No POTM awarded as no one playing well enough, but a death of the month .. DOTM

23 May 2004 So, I haven't updated these pages for a while, been busy with other stuff or actually playing! Yes, me playing MUDii again! Will the shocks ever end! I plan to catch up with the chart archives shortly, as I have a few to do but I still do have the info.

No new wizzes IIRC but many people sitting on high lives and even getting them out once in a while! POTM and DOTM are here. Also Hawumph and a very visible (!!) Turrican ran a Hide and Seek event last Thursday. Fun it was too with prizes of points or time for the players who found the hidden wiz. And some odd places they were in too.

11/4/04 Ok, for the hot news!! Sabretooth made WIZARD today about 10 am, well done Sabre, you been knocking around a while! Also updates to these here charts, and an Easter Special Event tonight at 9 PM - easter egg hunt!

28/3/04 MUDii and Not Updating persona sites have also been slow to update too .. are we all busy? We need some enthusiasm to keep the game viable I guess, so lets get playing and get the gossip out on the Web. At least the re-scheduled Muddled Times came out on time, and a good read it was too, although a bit sexist/female biased ( although I think Hawumph is looking to address that issue! )..

Also, did I mention we have a couple of new wizzes, Joey returns ( was Philtaylor ) and Mike makes it too. Who will Hawumph have left to torment now .. erm, except me and Wizrun dave!!!

Ok, So I have been away for a while ... work and home stuff, and then the Hard Disk died .. off line for 2 weeks while getting it replaced, recovering data etc.

Think it should be all ok now... so hoping to get back in the groove ( in the words of the Madonna! ).

31/12/03 New years eve. Maybe a quiet night in the Land of MUDii ? Or many parties? Not aware of any events, depends who is on - why not make your own entertainment...!

25/12/03. Christmas Day. All is quiet, all is calm. MUDii is FREE for Christmas day and boxing day.

19/12/03 Interesting web site here - Khaos - Khaos would approve ! How did the Nothing to lose event go? No idea! Xmas offers - buy time, give some a friend ( no wrapping paper required! ). Over Christmas, due to the management going to sunny climes ( or somewhere aware from MUDii HQ ! ) mail should go to Hawumph or Turrican, the surrogate masters. This Monday 22/12/03 - a Christmas themed Scavenger hunt - listen to the carols then go get the stuff mentioned. Fun and frolics and prezzies (??) for all! And Prizes.

27/10/03 A quiet few weeks, since Corwin Wizzed ... a few bashes getting harder with the PKs around, but Lo and Behold! ANOTHER WIZ .. just like busses, none for ages and 3 come along at once ... <ask your granny! > Well, 2 so far, Benny, the much abused young spunkster finally made Wiz today as Outkast! Well done Benny, Made it here too despite dastardly plots against you! So who will be the third, I'll give them until end of November for them to wiz...

12/10/03 Catching up on the charts ... MUDii seems busier recently, with new faces, new names and many of the old school turning up. Also, belated mention of our new Arch wizzes .. Turrican and Hawumph get the promotion, and can be seen working hard behind the scenes ... or not seen as is their whim

5/10/03 A lot has gone on in the last 2 weeks. Muddled Times is out, Top 100 players is out again ( and I am still in it! ), ohhh yes, a new wizard was created as someone made the requisite points and tasks to cross over! Also more POTM / DOTM appointments made too.

Come along Thursday night and discover the joys of the Sorcerer War - where your 0 point persona is made into a sorcerer and sent out to do battle with the most feared mobiles in the land. Other players! Whether you are an old hand who fancies going for some free time, or a novice who wants to learn (and just might win some free time anyway) come and check it out!

17/7/03 Mobile Bash again, Zordie was general, done with seconds to spare and a little assistance ( postponement etc. ) from the wizzes. 2 sneaky, underhand, player killers were doing their best to wreck the bash, attacking all and sundry often invisible and teamed up but the true folk of the Land won through.

3/7/03 Another Mobile Bash completed successfully, with loads of time left at the end! Rosie is Bash General!! POTM and DOTM now available on MUDii.co.uk.

26/6/03 Mobile Bash completed! No Deaths!! Undertaker lives again! Loads of time left. Lots of highlifes playing.

June 2003 Malbery ( Havoc ), the author of the MudForMortals client has brushed off his coding skills and produced this new fully featured client - Mud2pj. Info can be seen on the MUDii.co.uk forums here and the main web site is here. Merlyn would like feedback and bug reports please, those of you who use it. Latest version is 0.9b, and is likely to be feature frozen for a while.

The Immortal Mansion

For one night only you are invited to a house party unlike any you have ever attended. The immortals have graciously agreed to open up their private mansion, recently renovated to include a stable block for the newest wizard, for your delectation.

Unfortunately these are shy beings, more used to being ultra invisible than giving guided tours. Therefore Billygoat and Hawumph, your hosts for the evening, have deemed it wise to allow you to explore this palatial residence at your own pace.

There will be various snacks and drinks dotted around - feel free to help yourselves.

Each room is unique to its owner and as a form of party game you are invited to help yourself to a quiz sheet and see how many rooms you can correctly associate with the owner. To add spice to this competition the player with the most correct answers will receive two free weeks of playing time with one week for the runner up. Alternatively you can team up with a friend and share the first prize equally - it's up to you.

Whilst you are wandering you may discover treasures of an arcane nature. Remember where you are - it may be safe to play with them or swamp them, there again it may not. The decision is yours.

The Immortal Mansion will be open to visitors on Tuesday 24th June. The doors open at 9pm prompt!

1/2/03 Billygoat's first event goes well.. winners erm .. win! February's Muddled times is out! Brad Pitt returns to MUDii - official, Fight Club II live on MUDii on 11/2/03.

27/1/03 Trouble 't Mill in USA. Violent games to be banned. Will this kill MUDii over there? See news for details.

22/1/03 MUD will not be available for part of this Saturday. Phoenix is moving to a new data centre, so will be down for some time during Saturday morning. It will hopefully be only an hour or two, but we don't know exactly when it'll be. The IP number won't change - other than its new location, everything should be as normal by the evening.

14/1/03 The monthly special Thursday event will be a Sorcerer War, with a twist. Billygoat will host the event and will split the Sorc'd players into 2 teams ... Hack and Slay fun for all it seems!

14/1/03 Fight Club on MUDii tonight. Since quite a few players can't hack it when fighting, Hawumph has kindly organised a teach-in, where like minded souls can learn to protect themselves, avoid fights, and keep their stuff .

29/11/02 After a little lapse, the charts are updated. Slight news update, some bits on the events and bash reports but they need a bit more work, but they are here anyway. We have a new Wiz, and having played with Billygoat quite a bit, he is worthy of it.

3/11/02 Usual chart updates. The Halloween mobile bash went down well and was a great success, what with all the wee beasties like Dracula, Igor, Pumpkins and imps to name but a few replacing the normal inhabitants of the land.

6/10/02 Xmas MudMeet announced. See MUDii.co.uk Forum for info, London based this time, with added Lord Of The Rings2 too. Other wise another successful bash on Thursday and charts updated. Is it me or has multi-player bundling started up again? See the news for a fun filled reset.

29/9/02 Charts updated again. Event page updated. News updated with dead high lives. Spate of invis MUsers attacking all newcomers in minutes of joining a reset seems to have calmed a bit .. the cowardly personae may have had a talking to from The Management or other Immortals, I dunno.

15/9/02 A couple of interesting bashes recently, a lot of new faces - new players or just new persona? More old timers return to the fold too!

25/8/02 This weeks charts are up. The Sorcerer war event of last Thursday is up, with a report on the following impromptu bash to follow, and of course day 1 and day 2 of the mud meet to come!

12/8/02 Well, what a surprise. Sepultura is on again, and an impromptu bash this Monday night was successful, despite too many players ( 8 or 9 ) causing the Giants area to open !!! We want Sepultura on for ALL bashes from now on!!!!

4/8/02 Ok. Firstly the latest Muddled Times is out, all pretty in its new artwork adorned articles. Still needs new Phoenix Pic thou' ... any offers folks? Richard Bartle has overcome digimedia fever and put up his pics of the Colchester ( the Home of Mud ) pictures up on his website for all to view...

29/7/02 Mudii Meet update. Mention the MUD MEET when booking rooms to get the cheaper rates! Known attendees - Richard Bartle, Foddy, Karya, Hawumph, Vulnax, Undertaker & Marmite and Crazyfool hopefully and many more promised. Hoped to have a Mud Pub quiz, maybe a game help panel/ Quiz the Wiz, and lots of chat and beer!

28/7/02 Well what a week. A new event introduced for the Thursday night slot, which by all accounts was fun, even if it took a while for most / a few players to work out what to do and how!

21/7/02 Another week, another burble. Chart updates, and in between the sorc war and next weeks Lemmings game a mobile bash. Guess if we won or not... Don't forget the MudMeet in the North West soon ... 17 August 2002.

16/7/02 Well, a little late - I've been down south to watch some of Robot Wars series 6 being filmed ... shame most fights were by Dutch robots for their show, but at least one UK semi final was recorded while I was there, involving a well known world champion robot... Shame we won't see it on TV until late 2003 ! Ok MUDii stuff. Charts are updated again - how did you fare? A Sorcerer war was held on 11/7/02 which has a small report on here, but a massive obit here!. A table of who was killed by whom how many times can be found too. This coming Thursday see yet another new event following on from Azriel's Capture the flag of last month - this one being a recreation of the age old classic Amiga game, Lemmings! Will they squeak I wonder?

So more of the old school players are coming back, and playing. May be due to the summer hols looming or the reduced price? Either way they are a welcome sight, even if they display alternative playing styles. Here's hoping we don't return to the latter days of WP....

PKing looks like making an unwelcome come back, along with shouted abuse. After several quiet PK free weeks - certainly the Thursday events - a couple of old MUD2 hands came on for the bash, intending to bash more than the mobiles. Post bash, a series of invitation fights to the death saw Reckless the mage --> Warlock pass on to Sanjay; Sanjay then offered out for a fight 3 or 4 protectors and low level players at once. Unfortunately Sanjay survived.

True to tradition the third wiz arrived this week, albeit a little late! Wiley crossed over to the other side earlier today by killing our old friend Herbert (the hedgehog if you're wondering). Once settled in his new role, Wiley donned his official robes in the form of Hawumph the onomatopoeic Wizard. Congratulations to him!
