Mobile Bash    10/7/03

Mobile Bash 3/7/03

Players at the start of the bash included :

Aw the warlock
Carl the branded warlock
Confused the necromancer
Gilgamesh the patriarch
Folly the sorcerer
Gloomy the warlock
Prongs the superhero
Drucilla the superheroine
Legion the superhero
Angelus the sorcerer
Lelith the sorceress & Medusa & Rosie...

The first call for votes for bash general went quickly, leading to a joint decision - Gloomy and Gilgamesh.  Calls of PK Bash were heard, but not sure which way that went.  Gloomy had to leave shortly, and Gilgamesh didn't want the job.  By now the count was down to 150 mobiles, and Turrican the sinister arch wizard asked for a re-vote for bash general.  Rosie won, much to her surprise and reluctance!  Carl was on the dwarfs and Confused was clearing the goblins, as was Prongs, and many other mobiles were getting obliterated by the many players on for the bash.  Rosie exerted her General authority and asked politely for people to do keep, dwarfs and other things!  125 mobiles left message soon appeared, swiftly followed by the100 mobiles left note; the bash was progressing rapidly like the week before's bash -  probably due to the number of keen, knowledgeable players and a high proportion of magic users helps,  along with no PKing going on!  75 mobiles left was soon announced, as the banshee died, the rats were desecrated and the dwarfs were getting pummled by Carl.   The bonus for just 50 mobiles left soon came up, Carl was looking for a little support to wipe out the surly dwarfs, with Confused was on the way but Rosie wanted the Basilisk wiping out so Confused did that first.  A few people including Gilgamesh, Prongs, Confused and Nicodemus wiped out the Skeleton 0 in the East Pasture, further reducing the mobile numbers.   As Confused got to the Dwarf Realm, Gilgamesh was polishing off the remaining lesser dwarfs as Carl had cleared the tough old stumpies. Now it was 15 mobiles left in 57 minutes to reset... possible?!!   The group attacking the Spider included Carl, Confused, Rawr and Gilgamesh, and they won!  Unfortunately Confused had typed " kill them" or similar, and attacked the Spider AND Carl , and luckily died of poisoning to end the fight ...  A loose crow was soon despatched at 6 mobiles left, with Folly, Confused and Carl sorting out the golem, but that still left 6 left with over 50 minutes to go.  The SV count had gone  up after some one, for some reason, used the summon creatures vial, Doh!  The hunchback fell leaving 1 mobile, the water-snake 5 in it's usual haunt.  Rosie, Carl, Drucilla, Gilgamesh and Nicodemus polished off the last mobile, the water-snake, to relieve the Land of its evil minions and give all players with a kill the 3000 points bounty with about 40 minutes left... just marginally slower than the week before!  Legion went on to brave and beat the Touchstone before the reset, lucky lad!

Muser massacre at bash!

Mobile Bash 16/1/03

This event was started by Foddy when a second player arrived.  With just 2 players on it should have been doomed to failure.  After a few minutes getting kitted up and a now low level Marcus  (who was a Necro earlier on .. ) working his way back to a near decent level from protector then the bash proper could begin.  As the killing commenced the SV fell to 156 as the fireflies and Ram were despatched.  An early visit to the evil wood nearly finished Confused as the Vampire blocked the way and attacked with it's kit, even tho' the V fled on close to death.  Marcus had some problem and vanished, to be replaced a little later by Gilgamesh.  Now Gilgamesh is an experienced player / basher despite his vowed status, so perhaps the two of them could do some mobile damage before more joined the fray .... hopefully!  At this time 150 creatures still lived ... after 20 minutes.  Soon, Gilgamesh and Confused got the sv down to 100 for the first bonus.  The goblins were soon buried and the rats routed, following on from most of the land mobiles.  As usual the sealife and tougher mobiles remained.  That left 65 mobiles in 52 minutes... but could this be done with still just 2 players?  Corwin arrived soon after, and once he had re-gained his magic he was off slaughtering mobiles all over.  A couple of guests were watching proceedings too.  55 left in 47 minutes rapidly became 50 left bring a welcome second bonus.  45 left in 44 mins soon scrolled by, then 41 in 42 mins .. ahead of the clock at last! At around the hour mark Severina the Warlock joined us, and got to work bashing the mobiles.  Then .. Corwin fell to 3 burly dwarfs, losing his good sword and snacks that the dwarfs could use.  30 left in 33 mins .. still a chance if the sharks and keep could be done quickly. 25 mobiles left came and went, followed by 20 in 27 mins as water snakes were completed and pony etc were wiped out.  As 3 players took out the evil twins the total stood at 16 to go in 21 minutes.  As the inhabitants of the keep were despatched by 3 players Elevation popped in to steal the hard won Treasure without lifting a finger to help, typical!  This left 6 mobiles in 6 minutes quickly becoming 5 left in 2 minutes, all hopes pinned on the extension that was expected.  Now, this was a good situation but for one sad fact: Severina the warlock was attacked by the thieving Elevation and had to flee the land, although some of her kit was later put to good use.  With out this disturbance in the Land's force things may have gone better...   3 remained, golem, shark0 and a skeleton... but as the golem was despatched the misguided Elevation attacked Confused in the temple, which as confused was only on half stamina at the time could have been fatal.  A quick call for assistance led Gilgamesh and Corwin to the rescue,  with Confused fleeing on very stamina after another 20+ point hit from Elevation's Valtant.  The cheery sound of a bell ringing shortly after brought pleasure to many around the land, as Elevation fell to the efforts of a second Corwin attack!   3 Cheers for MOM !!    Down to 2 left in 1 minute, no more extends ...  but with all 3 players on the skeleton the shark lived and the reset came all too soon ... so the bash failed with 2 left, 2 deaths and Corwin had recovered to superhero without the bash bonus!

Fight Club - Hawumph's Teach in ( or is that Tai Chi  ? ) 14/3/02

Mobile Bash 9/1/03

Not a good day for some....  3 major MUsers bit the dust and 1 was avenged as the killer was themselves killed!  Bash succeeded after the last mobile was summoned and slaughtered.

The bash started well with 6 on and Puddy as General.  As 100 mobiles left was reached, the game crashed.  On resetting, Hawumph allowed the bash to restart with some different players on, 7 in number, and no general as the vote was tied.

Hawumph the onomatopoeic wizard
Fallout the superhero
Dblhelix the swordsman
Teneighty the swordsman
Pippin the swordsman
Davidbrent the sorcerer
Puddy the heroine
Gilgamesh the dragonfly-slaying patriarch

A small team of 3 or 4 wiped out the rats in short order, giving a kill rate of :

*Hawumph the onomatopoeic wizard shouts "gilgamesh 31 kills - davidbrent 19
- 1080 - 21 - fallout & puddy 6 - dblhelix 3". Pippin yet to kill something!

The total soon fell down to 75 and then 50 mobiles left.

The following players have died in fights this reset:
Fallout the dragon-slaying sorcerer, killed by 2 apes,
Dblhelix the hero, killed by the giant snake.

With evil twins and some keep left, along with sealife and the death of a MUser, it looked a bit harder.    Soon, 10 left came up and then 9 in 35 mins, by which time Davibrent had been made de-facto Bash General!    The curse of the Bash General falls again ...

Your stamina is 33.
*You hit the crocodile (5-9).
The crocodile looks seriously injured.
The crocodile hits you (12/100).
*You haven't the strength to wield the epee anymore...
You hit the crocodile (5-9).
The crocodile looks seriously injured.
The crocodile hits you (11/100).
*w
You can't just leave in the middle of a fight! You have to flee!
*You hit the crocodile (5-9).
The crocodile looks critically injured.
The crocodile hits you.
You feel your life leaving...
The crocodile has killed you.

Whoops! One dead bash general.  The last mobile was holed up in a tomb and no one seemed to know how to open the tomb.  Repeated summonings were tried but failed.  Then, Someone attacked Vulnax the Warlock with a longsword, and when the otherplayers tried to help some unfortunate managed "kill all " instead of kill invis or similar.  So, with multiple attacks Vulnax succumbed and shuffled off her mortal coil.  As the last mobile was awaited, Corwin polished off Fallout, the invisible killer of Vulnax.

Azrael the demonic wizard stands here in a wake of fiery destruction.
*obit
The following players have died in fights this reset:
Fallout the superhero, killed by Corwin the superhero,
Vulnax the warlock, killed by someone and Pippin the superhero,
Davidbrent the bash-general sorcerer, killed by the crocodile,
Fallout the dragon-slaying sorcerer, killed by 2 apes,
Dblhelix the hero, killed by the giant snake.

Then the message flashed up, You have rid the Land of Evil .. Another bash succesfully completed, although not without personal cost.

Two players were on initially, trying hard to get Karya to help them get to the golem.  I don't know what the outcome would have been as a third player arrived, 5 minutes late but still very welcome.   Karya decided then to hold a vote for Bash General, and despite the odd vote for Karya Magrat the Necromancess was selected over Gilgamesh the Pioneer, and Gnomerei the Necromancess.  Gilgamesh and Magrat opened up the goblin realm while Gnomerei went off to clear the keep and the GFC.  After a quick party.  The rats were cleared out and as the wolf died 100 mobiles were left. As Gilgamesh was exterminating the beetle Magrat was wiping out the man.  The mines were flushed out as the keep was cleared and the big reptile roared her last.  75 mobiles and 3 players, with a swordie just arriving.  As we hit 50 mobiles, with Ralph on the water snakes and Magrat on the dwarfs Gnomerei was on the wraith and Gilgamesh was trying his luck with the Touchstone.  As the snowbird and swan fell there were 25 left in 42 minutes, with 3 MUsers, a swordie and a protector on, and as the Stag was hunted there were 20 mobiles left with 38 minutes to go.  Floyyd and Stormin arrive about now, as the ram was fleeced and the mobiles left stood at 15.  The jellyfish died as the SV fell to 10 and soon reached 8 left in 22 minutes.   Yarson arrived as the SV hit 3 and Magrat drowned to he shark1 ...at least she lived albeit with less points!  The SK2 died leaving the Hunchback, who fell to Ralph, Stormin and Magrat, for the 3000 point bonus!

Sorcerer War 22/8/02

8 players with zero points stood at the Tea Room start line for Karya to do the honours with a sorcerisation for these novices.  Resorcerisation would be provided for the first 30 minutes then it would be a fight to the death - one side effect or a resorcerisation was that the starting stamina was reduced to 50 stamina ...!.  The usual refreshments and magical items had been replaced with new ones with functions to be determined by the unsuspecting players.  Starting off were Kazoo, Romnanmnmn, Runlykell, Tiki, Retro, Diego, Casperr and Gilgamesh, with Olazabal and Karya in attendance.  Within seconds the first fight, and subsequent kill, took place.  Gilgamesh came across Romnanmnmn in the forest and attacked - both were unarmed but a pointy stick close to hand helped Romnanmnmn to the first kill of the event. Very soon after the banshee attacked a weakened Romnanmnmn who was them mercilessly teamed by Diego and Kazoo as they happened by!  Diego carried on his killing streak as Retro fell next, with further deaths to Retro, Romnanmnmn and Kazoo.  Wildebeest had joined in by now too, with Iamgod arriving fashionably late.  The carnage continued until the 30 minute mark, when resorcerisation ceased.  Several mass fights, with 4 or 5 people fighting one or two of the others in the same location took place, which were fun ... until the goblin37 stopped people leaving the location!  Kazoo was having a hard time of it, having been killed by a dwarf and earlier by a goblin .. the main survivor so far seemed to be Diego, with no kills against him and a few to his credit!! A sneaky Retro had taken up residence in Romnanmnmn's hidey hole, and as he arrived was subject to attack from Retro.  Shortly after the billy goat decided to attack and runlykell arrived to finish the job and Romnanmnmn was no more.  Quite quickly the numbers of sorcerised players dropped to 3, all of whom would get some form of prize.  Diego still had the most kills and was doing well, not dying during the game at all.  Soon, Retro, then Runlykell and finally Diego came home to the T room as the event ends with the 3 winners.  Fun all round!  The obit is here.

Mobile Bash 22/8/02

After the Sorcerer War special event the players were all keen for a bash anyway.  Karya was on and assisted in providing a Bash General for the impromptu bash, which turned out to be the ( rapidly learning ) new player Miath, after Gilgamesh passed over the honour ( and Undertaker the superhero hid to avoid the curse following his death during bashes when he was generaling).  Participants included Undertaker, Gilgamesh, Khaos ( part time ), Folly, Miath, Carrott, Shalakazam and Lucius. Dim turned up later and Serenety sat in the T room while Heiachi made a token appearance in the game.  The SV was quickly reducing reaching 121 mobiles at 90 minutes left.  Much mayhem and murder was being done to the local inhabitants of the Land as 78 left alive came up at 78 minutes to go.  Could this beat the 2 week ago bash with 47 minutes left at completion? We will have to see.  73 mobiles in 73 minutes cam up as Miath rallied the troops.  50 left was reached at about 16 minutes left as some players were getting restless ,with keep and sea-life still to do.  At 25 mobiles left in 60 minutes reset remaining, the call went up to try and beat the ( unconfirmed ) record of the previous week or two where 47 mins were left after completing a bash.  Soon the count was down to 20 mobiles with 55 minutes remaining, with all hands going to work to rid the Land of evil.  As the magic time remaining of 47 minutes passed by there were still 14 mobiles left alive.  No records broken this week then!  A small team of Lucius and Undertaker  followed by the valiant Bash General Miath went out to sea and wiped out the remaining sharks and jellyfish to complete the bash, bring the SV to zero and claim the 3k points!  An adverse side to this success was that we had 2 Champions and one player just 170 points of Champion where were itching to gain their magic ... but the first 2 died ... commiserations to Carrott and Folly.  Nasty TS and all that, but Dim made a Spellbinder and Undertaker achieved a Sorcerer from the TS after it had drunk its fill of life-force,  and some where the novice Shalakazam had made it to Sorcerer during the bash!    A mortal reset was successful and the reset came upon us shortly after.

Mobile Bash 15/8/02

Mobile Bash 8/8/02

What a Bash!  A good turn out with a couple of Immortals gracing us with their presence, of note was Sepultura who was egging on the players all 'set.

Scooby, Folly, Koppu, Claude, Casper, Gilgamesh and Mejane were abroad in the Land at the start of the reset, the odd one being invisible for some time and most players acquired a playful silly prefix / postfix to their name.  Angelus joined in later closely followed by Cred.  The mobile count was dropping VERY quickly, and whilst this was declared a PK bash, it was only allowed to PK warlocks and above.  At 98 minutes left only 139 mobiles stood between the players and a big fat bonus.   As the SV fell to 100 mobiles left it was realised that no Bash General had been appointed.  Sepultura declared that anyone who volunteered to be General would have their lame prefix removed ... as a reward in this case!  Very little was heard, so Claude was given the honour.  Various interesting swords appeared at points in the Land, which aided the mobile assault.   At about 72 minutes left the 50 mobile bonus popped up - the bash was really rocking, with 46 mo left with 69 minutes to go and 37 left at 67 mins remaining!!  24 left at 64 mins left came up next, followed by 14 at 59 mins to go.  What a fast bash this was turning out to be with 4 mobiles left at 51 minutes to auto reset!!

A ( potential ) record performance was achieved, the land being cleared of mobile life and the 3000 point bonus being awarded with 47 minutes to go!  Most of the players then attempted a Treasure Bash which narrowly failed, made harder as some needed items / mobiles had been destroyed during the mobile bash.  Well done all!

Chaos, killing, deaths, fodding, swearing, dissent... sounds like another quiet night in Mud Towers !

Team PKing was an unwelcome feature which saw off several players with an untimely   <BONG>.  The odd player was being a little out of hand with the visible Wiz and received a reprimand in the shape of a FOD.

Mobile Bash report 18/7/02

A slow start, with a couple of people, like Rarorn and Scooby falling foul of the group of goblins in the giant realm entrance leading to 1 death and 1 flee on 1 stamina!  Desunu fell to the goblins next, may or may not have been the same ones that included G10 ...!  Bantering between Radish and Polar, the Warlocks of the event, over who should be Bash General finally went to the vote and Polar won ... if winning this accolade is really a win!  Polar got the popular vote and set to organising the mortals into a fighting frenzy, to wipe out the mobiles.  Illistryl and friends went after the short stumpy ones and cleared most if not all of them out.  A scrap with The Man had the players fleeing, and a shout for help led to Scooby wiping out the man after a few chases around the cottage.  Soon after Polar had to leave the Land.... and a new Bash General was voted in ... Scooby was the lucky incumbent.  Scooby, Sluggo, Fluke and Illistryl took care of the Vampire and Wraith before going to do some hard Goblins at the start of the giant area, with Fluke in the lead.  Radish was quite ahead on kills by now.  A maximum figure of 14 players, 2 guests and 1 immortal were to be seen, although not all were involved in the massacre of the Lands indigenous population.  This group joined Werewolf and Plank to polish off a skeleton in the Mausoleum, leaving 20 alive at 38 minutes to go, then 15 remaining at 33 mins and soon down to 10 at 28 minutes left as Sluggo and friends wiped out the remainder of the keep inhabitants.  The sealife were being battered slowly and a Golem crew were set up, at which point  the tally stood at 3 remaining from 280 mobiles with 20 minutes left!  Sluggo took out Anelka, which proved my thoughts on this being a NON PK bash incorrect!  Werewolf, Saturnine and Scooby took on the Ghoul while 2 attempts on the golem took place, which when finally successful meant 1 mobile left.  Fluke had become the player with the highest mobile kills after Radish had left the land.  The last mobile, the basilisk, was killed by Bait for the 3000 point bash bonus, with around 10 minutes or more left.  A mortal reset was attempted and that too succeeded!

Fluke won a bonus prize for most mobile kills in the bash.  Which was nice!

Mobile Bash Report 4/7/02 - American Independence Day

Coming soon...  really! Yes really! Well sometime!

Mobile Bash Report 27/6/02

This was a quite well populated bash, with the drawback that at least one on the players was a known PKer and hoped to wreck harm on the citizens of the Land, causing the bash general and maybe others to remain in the tea room.  The other attendees at the bash were 3 to 4 guests and upto 4 Wizards visible during the bash.

The bash general was voted in a while after the start of the event, which was Darklord.  He was sitting in the T Room at this point, as Reckless the Mage was present, intent on spilling some blood, and Darklord came out to lead the troops particularly when Hawumph declared the bash was Non PK apart for mages, and Azrael added warlocks with over 80,000 points, a score Darklord was perilously close to...  Undertaker was the bash deputy.

149 in 90 mins was a slow start, but with T Room magic users and old players expressing doubts about the bash due to the low numbers, it was adequate.  The goblins were being cleaned after Sanjay and Undertaker sorted the Portcullis; water snakes and dwarfs were under attack and sundry mobiles were despatched as they were come across.  126 left in 79 minutes was the next marker, with Sanjay dying a couple of times to the Dragon and some rats.

The 100 mobiles left announcement soon came up, as there were then 6 or 7 personae playing, most in the bash, soon becoming 83 in 59 minutes.  This left the keep, sea life and other difficult mobiles, and those present may have had other ideas what there were going to do....

Shortly a series of misfortunes occurred ... Darklord was unsited in an isolated area, Undertaker fell off a mountain, soon after 46 in 39 mins the great gate opened ... 57 in 32 minutes now!  Darklord became under attack from Reckless as his score reached the 80,000 level dictated by the Immortals to be ok to attack him at, although Reckless was forced to flee / quit a time or two,  the SV level now standing at 52 in 25 minutes.  Undertaker made a stab at the first shark which was a tough old fish, and after two more flees and a drowning gave up on the sealife to go for some of the other remaining land mobiles, at 38 in 14 mins.  Shouted cryptic hints ( ok, not THAT cryptic ) were doing the rounds pointing out what's left to kill.  There was still about 25 mobiles left at the 2 minute warning, the last gasp of the players was to kill the griffin.  2 MUsers and 2 non MUs were attacking the Griffin,  when the bell rang out... the low stamina'd Undertaker was finished off by the beast.  The few remaining players continued the bash, with Darklord and Undertaker licking their wounds in the T room.  Another doomed bash.
